dear you,
I’m sitting on the carpet of my office floor. The mid-afternoon sun is streaming through the slats of my blinds, drawing lines on the carpet and over my skin. It makes me feel sleepy in that warm, pleasant cat-nap way… Or maybe that’s the carb & sugar crash of my celebratory lunch?
I Reached Another Milestone!
PROJECT [REDACTED]: 100% DRAFTED
PROJECT BUG BABIES: 100% DRAFTED
Project Bug Babies is officially 100% drafted (for the 6ᵗʰ time since 2020 or so). I typed up the last of the 101,001 words of the manuscript today, 2 weeks before my official deadline! (1 week before my self-imposed deadline.)
This is great because I now have time for some edits. It’s also less great because I have even more time than expected to second-guess, over-think, and just generally PANIC! (at the disco). But I much prefer this to having no time for edits at all, so…bring on the existential dread, I guess?
I’ll get started on edits tomorrow. The rest of my day has been dedicated to literally anything OTHER than Bug Babies, lest I burn through my retinas trying to fix sentences that don’t need fixing. (Always let a manuscript rest when you can—like a good steak! Or so I’m told…)
You might be wondering what this might mean for October. Well, you and me both, my friend. I guess I’ll have to let you know in the next update. Maybe there’s some audiobook narrating in my future? Only time will tell. Stay tuned if you like!
yours,
elise
