dear you,
I hope I find you in a comfy chair with a warm cup in your hands.
My tea is steeping on the counter, and I popped a piece of bread in the toaster oven because I should probably eat something (but remembering to feed myself can be hard for me).
How are you? What has life brought you today? It’s been a while since I last wrote. I’ve had a lot… Well, I’ve had just as much going on as I usually do, but I’ll get into that another day. Today, I just wantedto check in.
I’m writing you this letter by hand from my armchair. I think reading it might be a comfort to you — and I know writing it will be a comfort to me. So … we both win, really. When’s the last time you received a handwritten letter, anyway? Handwriting is so soothing to me. Maybe reading it will be soothing to you. I had a few pen pals in the past, mostly out of necessity because my family moved so much, but now I only get to do this when I write someone a card. Or a post-it at work.
So I’d like to start sending some little life updates — what I’m working on, what I’m thinking about. Once a month (at most!) if I can keep it up.
Would that be ok?
You can write me back anytime by replying to my email (or, if you have my address, feel free to send me a handwritten letter!). But if you’d rather just read, that’s great too. And if you’d like to unsubscribe at any time, the link to do that is down at the end of the email.
yours, elise
